Welcome to our Tribute presentation in remembrance of the Veterans at the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke.

REMEMBER THE GLORY OF THEIR LIVES AND HONOR THEIR MILITARY SERVICE TO OUR NATION

Above this text, you will find a presentation with photographs, biographies and remembrances of the many Veterans who died of COVID-19 or from an illness while under the care of the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke during the period from March through July of 2020, the time of the coronavirus outbreak.  The presentation also includes Veterans who were residents at the Soldiers' Home during the pandemic, and it is also our intent to include recognition of current residents.

How to navigate the Tribute presentation

On the presentation above, you will find right and left navigation arrows. Use these to move the slides forward or back.  Veteran names are listed in alphabetical order.  The presentation is divided into three sections:

Section One is a list of those Veterans who died from COVID-19 or related illness during the outbreak while residents at the Home or under the care of the Home.

Section Two is a list of those Veterans who died from other causes during the outbreak while residents at the Home or under the care of the Home.

Section Three will include a list of current Veteran residents.   This section currently has one Veteran listed.

You can also download a PDF version of the presentation to share with family and friends.

Sending information for this presentation

Our Coalition’s goal is to verify the names of all Veterans who died from, or contracted COVID-19 though care received at the Soldiers’ Home; and to have as complete a list as possible for future community remembrances and ceremonies that honor their lives and military service.

If you are a family member of a Veteran who died from COVID-19 while under the care of the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke during the coronavirus pandemic, and you would like to list your loved one's name and would like to contribute photos and information for this page, please write to us at HolyokeSoldiersHomeCoalition@gmail.com.

This presentation will be updated as we get more names and information sent to us so be sure to check back with us.
